A tale of two Bays
Here you stand at the Homeli Knoll (pronounced Humly Now) to the left the gorgeous sandy beach and at the end of the beach are steps taking you up to the stunning village of St Abbs, also known around the globe by Marvel fans as ‘The New Asgard’.
To the right, the river great for a game of ‘‘Poohsticks’ and the pebble beach, where we skim many a stone and have been known to create a little stone art.
St Abbs offers great food with 3 cafes, a visitor centre, pottery place, lighthouse and bird watching walks, diving excursions and the highly recommended rib trips.

Coldingham Beach
The sandy beach is perfect for bathing, swimming, surfing, dog walks and relaxing! St Vedas shop at the bottom of the hill offers surf lessons and rents out any equipment you may need. The beach hosts a cafe with great coffee, lunch options and the famous Giacopazzi’s ice cream is stocked here, and there are toilets on the beach too.
-
The Mermaid
This stunning pool of blue hosts a mini lagoon submerged in the most gorgeous array of blues, known to the locals as ‘The Mermaids’. Just follow the path past the pebble beach on the right from the Homeli Knoll. Pause, stand and breath it in, from here you can see out to Eyemouth the cliffs which make up a gorgeous coastal walk to our next fishing village with lots of little beaches along the way. Take in the local sights of the Hurkurs, Killies and more and enjoy what the town of Eyemouth has to offer. Walking shoes are a must.
However if you continue round the Homeli Knoll you will see another mini sandy beach, rock pools to explore then keep going round to reach the sandy bay.
